"Take it Off the Shelf."

It's an armature mistake we have all made in the youth of our #drinking. You find yourself at an acquaintances residence, perusing the #liqueur cabinet, when you spot a "hidden gem". Dust has built up nicely over this ancient #chardonnay, your mind telling you how the older the vintage the greater the #spirit. But after sweeping off the cobwebs, popping the top and pouring a glass, the extreme euphoria you hoped to achieve is replaced by utter repulsion. #GDS Rule No. 302 "Generally speaking, no more than three years on the shelf." Only a small percentage of fine #wines on the market benefit from long-term aging. Most wines are best enjoyed within a few years of release. Buying wines to mature requires professional-grade storage equipment, the right type of #wine and know how. The wine most of us buy will most certainly be effected by different factors over extended periods of time. Air is like water, it looks for the smallest cracks and holes to get into your bottle, thereby compromising the spirit. Storing bottles vertically, corks vs. caps and other factors contribute to this equation of doom. So unless you want to get real serious, which is never a bad idea, pop those corks and enjoy them with your fellow men. Cheers #men!
